Dataset of vegetation ecological attributes in the upper reaches of Heihe river (2015-2017)

The data set collected the data of vegetation ecological attributes in the upper reaches of Heihe River, including 1938 pieces of data, 791 pieces of forest (696 pieces of Picea crassifolia forest in Qinghai, 95 pieces of round Berlin in Qilian), 477 pieces of shrub (mainly including jinlumei shrub, guijianjinjier shrub, jililu shrub), 444 pieces of grassland, 227 pieces of meadow. Ecological attributes include 4 groups of ecological parameters, 15 categories and 74 indicators, as follows: Vegetation structure parameters (5 categories and 25 indicators):

Coverage: total coverage, tree, shrub and grass coverage, average diameter of crown;

Height: height of tree, shrub and grass, thickness of canopy, thickness of litter, thickness of bryophyte and maximum root depth;

Density: tree layer density, average DBH;

Leaf area index: the maximum leaf area index and the minimum leaf area index of three layers of arbor, shrub and grass;

Phenological period: the beginning of leaf development, full leaf period, the beginning of deciduous period, complete deciduous period.

Vegetation productivity parameters (3 categories and 16 indicators):

Aboveground biomass: total biomass, stem biomass of tree, shrub and grass, leaf biomass;

Root biomass: root biomass, 0-5, 5-15, 15-30, 30-50, 50-100, 100-250cm fine root biomass;

Other biomass: litter layer, bryophyte layer biomass and carbon storage.

Physiological and ecological parameters (4 categories and 24 indicators):

Biomass allocation: ratio of rhizome to leaf;

Element content: carbon content of rhizome and leaf, carbon nitrogen ratio, litter carbon content, bryophyte carbon content;

Leaf shape: specific leaf area, leaf length and width, leaf inclination;

Gas exchange characteristics: leaf water potential, net photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, air temperature, intercellular CO2 concentration, photosynthetic effective radiation, etc;

Vegetation hydrological parameters (3 categories and 9 indicators):

Rainfall redistribution: maximum interception capacity, canopy interception, throughfall, trunk and stem flow‘

Production flow: production flow, production flow coefficient;

Evapotranspiration: plant transpiration, soil evaporation and soil evaporation depth.
